I have been receiving an average of four emails weekly regarding the Jonestown Massacre from an array of different people - historians, scholars, students, the curious, etc. I have yet to find an agent interested in representing the revision of The Ghosts of November. Despite this, my correspondence tells me readers are more curious than ever about this event that occurred 30 years ago next November.
I have decided to offer the book in a serialized version for periodicals. I will provide 22 articles of approximately 2500 words each or 11 articles of about 5000 words each. If you would like to see The Ghosts of November serialized in your hometown newspaper, please contact me and I will try to arrange it.

Writing Contest Rules
RELIGIOUS FREEDOM AND CULTS WRITING CONTEST
1. The grand prizewinning entry will be published on this blog in November 2008.
2. You must be age 16 or over to enter.
3. Your entry must be an unpublished work by you, and be on the topic "Religious Freedom and Cults." All entries become the property of The Ghosts of November Blog and may be posted on the blog.
4. Entries must be typed and double-spaced. They are to be placed into the body of an email sent to wordworks2001@gmail.com. The subject of the email must be "Writing Contest Entry." Entries must be received by 31 October 2008.
5. Please include the title of your piece on top of the piece.
6. Your essay should be no less than 500 and no more than 1000 words.
7. Send as many entries as you like.
8. Include the following on your entry email:
- Title of the entry
- Name
- Snail mail address
- Email address
- Biographical facts
i.e. If you're a student: your birthdate; what grade you are going into; the school you attend; your major, if applicable; hobbies; a photo of yourself (no Polaroids or color copies).
The winner shall receive a copy of the first edition of The Ghosts of November, personally autographed by me.

Andrew Brandou's Jonestown Series
Andrew Brandou has a new show of paintings that opened in April at the Corey Helford gallery in Culver City, CA. The exhibition, titled "As A Man Thinketh, So He Is," is based on the history of Jonestown. Brandou's juxtaposition of extreme cuteness and dark imagery is moving. Seen here, "Medication," a depiction of People's Temple members lining up for a cup of cyanide-laced Flavor Aid.

I went to Mercy high school with terry carter and mary lou meyer. terry's brothers tim and mike led them to Guyana. I would like to know what terry and mary lou's life was like in guyana. i understand they were married and had children there. could you fill me in on the details?
